On Monday 19th November 2018 at Llwyn Country House, DWJ Wealth Management hosted an ‘Ask the Expert’ Private Client Event. Experts, Iain McLeod, Wealth Management Consultant of the private client division, and Ian Price, Divisional Director Retirement Proposition, guided clients through an overview of the investment markets. They focused on how Brexit is likely to impact the markets in the coming months and over the long-term. Iain McLeod discussed investment planning and Ian Price discussed retirement options.
It was explained that St. James’s Place had begun planning for Brexit when it was first announced therefore the fund managers have been busy redistributing assets to help lower the risk for clients. The UK only accounts for a small proportion of global investment meaning there has been emphasis on investing elsewhere to help reduce the impact of UK market uncertainty. We had excellent feedback from the session with clients feeling a lot more reassured with their investments. It gave a positive perspective on how volatility in the markets can work in favour of the investor with light at the end of the Brexit tunnel.
The value of an investment with St. James's Place will be directly linked to the performance of the funds you select and the value can therefore go down as well as up. You may get back less than you invested.
